christina & jesse: a Kingston family wedding along historical shores

This wedding is a special one for me in that it is the third of three sisters who’s weddings I have been privileged to photograph: Brittany in 2016 https://knorthphotography.ca/blog/brittany-paul-an-action-packed-wedding-day-at-casa-loma-and-atlantis-pavillions/, Becky last year https://knorthphotography.ca/blog/becky-nick-fun-in-love-at-the-berkeley-church/ and now Christina & Jesse in the family’s hometown of Kingston, Ontario. Having been a part of some momentous family occasions, I felt kinda like a distant relative, or a friend from afar when I landed at Christina’s childhood home, and couldn’t help but well up a couple of times throughout the day. Brittany has a pudgy-cheeked baby girl now, and Becky & Nick can still tear a dancefloor to shreds on demand. And the parents? just an absolute class act: two super loving and engaging individuals with a generous dose of childlike mischief. It says everything that, during their speech, they managed to conjur up a note Jesse wrote to them when he was a wee teen that actually said at the end they could keep it and read it aloud at his wedding as payback for them allowing him to take Christina out. What?!! Hilarious (and quite a run-on sentence).

Christina & Jesse made their vows under the trees at Vimy’s Officer’s Mess, within view of the sparkling St. Lawrence. Sun-tinged and breezy, it was a day without pause: ceremony into festivities into dinner and speeches. Easy and delightful. Highlights for me? the wedding photo of Christina’s parents inside the photo of her climbing into her dress. the ring-boy’s ‘serious’ face. Christina’s wildly generous smile. and of course, the flash mob dance to ‘Jesse’s Girl’ just to get the party going late night.

Wishing you a lifetime of love & happiness C&J – and the same to your beautiful families. xo
