jeanine & rob

London came to Toronto for this wedding–actually, everywhere came to Toronto for this wedding. Jeanine & Rob have lived all over, and their friends have lived all over, so I think it was a bit of a conundrum for them to figure out where to hold the event—I think they made an excellent choice.

Graydon Hall’s lavish estate has so much to offer: old stone and vines, parquet floors and red velvet (I love velvet!!), winding staircases, french doors, antique wood, weathered iron gates and dripping crystal chandeliers, lawns and hedges and even a gigantic fountain–what more could you ask for such a decadent occasion? What I loved most about this wedding though was that in the midst of all this old world opulence, it had, throughout the entire day, this whimsy and playfulness that I’ve come to associate with Jeanine & Rob. They are so sweet and silly and full of laughter together–and all their plans reflected this sense of fun between them: their little ring boys with their puffy London cab ring pillows, the storytelling readings that took everyone on a short fictional journey during their ceremony, their very giggly tea ceremony (a salute to tradition without an excess of formality), the lion dance performance around the fountain…I mean the pictures say it all, so there’s no need to say much more. It was a beautiful and bold celebration J&R and I enjoyed every minute of it–thanks for the shots Jeanine!!
