carrina & arnie

Blue Mountain wedding!! Truly truly, I love my job! How is it that I get to make a living out of following around two beautiful people in love all day?! Even from the first moments shooting these two getting ready together in their hotel room, the love began rubbing off on me. Carrina & Arnie are so relaxed, so easy to be with and most importantly, so obviously happy together.

Leaving the blissful a/c of the hotel, we ventured out into the sweltering summer day, took a sunny walk through Blue Mountain Village, explored a grassy vacant lot away from the crowds, went up a mountain, down a gondola, and then sat together for an intimate, immaculately decked out dinner. A full day of fun for me and of course endless eye-candy to aim my lens at: First off, the sun and all it’s super strength splendour–I just couldn’t get enough of the flare..all these little explosions of light, mmmmm sunshine. And then there’s Carrina and her big doe-y eyes–she’s like the bride with a thousand expressions–check her during her vows at once ecstatic and a second later pouting back imminent tears, she’s such a gorgeous subject. I love her shoes in the yellow grass, and just the grass in general—and all the feathers, in the bouquets and boutonierres and spouting from the vases at the mountaintop ceremony site, mmmmm texture. There’s also this amusement park-ish atmosphere in Blue Mountain Village that gives the whole scene a kind of toy buildings imaginary feel amidst the liveliness of a tourist town—notice there’s a small rock show taking place in the centre square behind the obliviously kissing couple. I love the unseriousness of that image.

It’s worth mentioning that Carrina had a ‘man’ of honour—and what an asset he turned out to be!! He was like the bride’s secret weapon (not that she needed a weapon, but I suppose it’s always good to have a trick or two up your sleeve). He held her gown for her as she walked to and fro, he carried her girly stuff, he sympathized with her sore feet….and then he MCeed the entire evening!! He put together this game where the bride, blindfolded, got to squeeze the butt of every man in the room (save her dad) while he said “I love you” with his mouth stuffed with marshmallows.!?!!…and had to determine which was the butt of her newly wed man–only she had to do it through an ovenmitt, which only added to the ridiculousness of the moment. Hilarious.

The dining room was an absolute vision. But I won’t bore you with a description as there are plenty of photos below. No need for more words here—let the pictures speak.
