Behold this ravishing bride in her 20’s era ensemble and her class act of a man tying the knot at the brink of summertime.
I love Catherine’s style, from the wave in her hair and her lipstick colour to her exquisitely understated way of having everything perfectly under control. I adore the pale tones and soft textures of the bridal gown and the bridesmaids dresses and the sharp contrast they make to Lionel and his posse’s sportier side. This groom has a smile that doesn’t quit.
With 4 of her 6 bridesmaids pregnant and a torrential downpour to boot, she faced the day in full stride and focused on all the important things: friendship, family, love and well, photography!! Of course the clouds cleared up for the happy couple and we got the chance to roam the Distillery District taking advantage of it’s rustic brick landscapes and modern architecture.
ARTA Gallery and it’s airy cement spaces.
Archeo Restaurant and it’s raw & reclaimed charm.
I loved that these two met over hip hop, and that hip hop was so prevalent in the stories of the evening—to say nothing of the video-dance party that followed (yes!!).
I loved the unapologetic mash-up of so many different flowers in every colour imaginable, and the vintage containers that held them.
Mostly, I loved the abundance of laughter and the sheer willingness of two families to embrace one another.
A hundred thanks to you Catherine & Lionel for having me capture it for you–it was a true pleasure.
