Mira & Tal brought their family & friends up to beautiful Lake Rosseau for a gorgeous Indian summer day at the tail end of Muskoka’s autumn.
It was an astonishingly warm day for the season, so we took advantage of the area and spent some time in the forest, on the beach, walking the trails on the Red Leaves, Marriot property. We staged a “reveal” inside a white causeway between two of the buildings–I was loving the curve in those shots.
Most of Tal’s family came over from Israel to meet with Mira’s family–many of them for the first time. Hence, there were so many special moments of coming together, merging family and culture–making ties and bearing witness. Mira & Tal had said from the beginning they wanted an intimate spiritual wedding, and they achieved this beautifully. The ceremony was led by a charismatic rabbi who sang with a charmed voice and played a hand drum throughout most of it. He had the entire room singing as the couple took in the symbolism and ritual of their union. Then of course, the Hora, to seal the deal. The entire room was on a rampage, flinging themselves and each other around relentlessly—I have to say, I’m really fond of some bonafide chaos at a wedding.
It was lovely to see Mira’s family again, to say hello to Zoe & Oren, whose wedding I shot last year, and to again play a part in making memories for this close-knit and loving family. Mazel tov M & T!!
