jenny & anthony

A gorgeous late fall marriage!! Jenny and Anthony are adorable—especially Jenny. She made such a stunning bride, and I know I often say that, but she REALLY did—there was no one could take their eyes off her. She had a Grace Kelly look about her, with her classy blond updo and the heavy lash—expertly styled by the amazing Jackie Gideon www.jackiegideon.com and her capable assistants. While these fine ladies worked on the finishing touches, Jenny’s mom stitched together her veil, her dad fussed with tidying the house and her brother decorated the car outside—I love it when our first location is buzzing like that! Straight up camera food. The groom’s space was a little calmer, though filled with characters and the usual confusi…on around boutonierres. Anthony is a true gentleman and simply floated from room to room addressing the needs of his many companions.

St Mary’s Cathedral, otherwise known as the Church at Adelaide & Spadina, with its gothic arches and brilliant sanctuary, made a dramatic setting for the ceremony, then the reception at the lavish Liberty Grand held that tone. We did photos in Trinity Bellwoods park until the cold chased us indoors. I love these group shots of the circle in the trees, all the leaves on the ground—it’s like a dress-up campfire party. The starkness of trees with no leaves, the colourless sky, the way the cold makes people be cozy…there’s a special something in the blending of these details. A foreshadowing of winter, the all out beauty of summer slipping beneath the covers. It was mystifying there, just before night. And how do I take a bad photo of these two anyhow? They’re so naturally lovely.

The party was a massive success, of course, running the gamut between laughter and tears, and a whole lotta kissing. Definitely some dancing fools in the crowd—um Jenny? Got you!

Then off to Egypt they flew.

I’m sure there will be many worlds travelled by the two of you as you unravel your futures together. xo
