marion & piero

It’s been a little while since my last post–my apologies–my computer actually crashed and wound up giving me about 3 weeks worth of grief!! ouch!

Nevertheless, I’m back, completely up & running once again and all is well.

Marion & Piero are just soooo cute! on top of being gracious and easy-going and just all round lovely people. They were married on Sept 19th at the Gladstone Hotel–one of my favorite old hotels gone “boutique hotel” in the city–and I should note here, it has the coolest 2 storey ‘honeymoon suite’ nestled inside the building’s single turret at it’s Queen st. & Gladstone corner. This is where our shoot began. Marion’s dear friend (I can’t seem to call up her name to memory) handled all the make up and hair for her and her bridesmaids, right down to fitting each of them with simple bird-cage veil pieces she had created herself. Everyone ought to have a friend like this.

Marion was glowing brilliantly before she even put her gown on–but once she did, she was truly a vision: all gorgeous and voluptuous in that incredible dress with her bright eyes and perfect skin, her friends all soggy eyed…my camera was very happy.

The wedding was staged in the hotel’s modest ballroom, a room that’s seen a rock concert or two in it’s earlier years, and probably an actual ball or two in the years before that. Bright sunlight through tall windows, red velvet and wood floors combined with Marion’s dress to give the whole scene a both funky and majestic appearance. I love these ceremony images; you can almost sink into them–all that light and all that love.

Our photoshoot after the wedding was all about finding fantastic nooks within the hotel to fit the couple into. The dinner and dance that followed was full of laughter and stuff-strutting–all the elements of great memory making. Marion & Piero created a day they can gush about well into their ripe old age–and it’s clear their love will take them there together.
