kristin & troy: a sweet-tooth wedding at the Arcadian Loft

My first wedding of the season—and what a treat of a day! or rather, what a day-ful of treats.

Kristin & Troy really took every opportunity to make their day everything that they imagined it could be: a window-lined room overlooking the very centre of the city, a sumptuous meal by Oliver & Bonacini, an offering of sugar-coated doughnut holes to greet and seat their guests, signature pineapple mojitos, chandeliers and giant lanterns, personalized stationary to mark each stage of the day, lively yellow-green bouquets and table dressings, mouthwatering gourmet doughnuts (in case dessert didn’t quite hit the spot)—and finally, the finale: a candy-tastic buffet to rival Willy Wonka. Kristin’s infatuation with candy is truly no joke.

I really enjoyed the day’s mixture of fun and formal. We had an easy time overtaking the roof terrace of city hall for portraits–I love the many candids captured by my new second shooter, the very talented John Lawson. Precious mother/father glances at their freshly dressed daughter-bride are worth mentioning–as is the first look on the 70’s architechtural wonder of a staircase gracing the lobby of the Arcadian, a shiny disco showpiece indeed.

It seems taking images of people taking images is the new black. Whatever brings on a smile, I dedicate my lens in that direction.

Wishing many many years of sweetness and ease to the very fine couple. xo
