yvonne & mike: sunny wedding day at Fantasy Farms, Toronto

What happens when two people fall in love, move in together, have three babies, start two businesses and then decide to get married?

Poetry.

A whirling chaotic complicated and wonderful poetry–that’s what happens.

Yvonne and Mike carefully planned out a day that would emphasize family: strengthening and celebrating their own gorgeous little family unit while honouring their own and each other’s extended families and inviting everyone into the beautifully blended circle they’ve created over the past decade.

The creative power of two people in love is an extraordinary thing.

As is the power of cuteness.

Rosie and Josie aka “the flowergirls” aka ‘twins extraordinaire’ of the newly-wedded couple, did their best to steal the day and warm the hearts of everyone everywhere, with their matching jumpsuits and their lollipops and their mind-riddling identical-ness. But then Yvonne & Mike’s eldest, Max, during the ceremony, took the sisters under his wing while their parents made their promises to the three of them–and showed the entire body of guests who truly wears the cuteness crown.

I could shoot this stuff for days.

The promise rock they all held, was a heart-shaped rock Max found on a beach during a family trip.

Mike laid out an array of ties from his parent’s closet and had each of his groomsmen choose one to wear in honour of his fondly-remembered dad.

Yvonne’s hair, her make-up, her flowers and table-settings–were all carefully executed by her very talented network of friends.  I am so thrilled to be counted among them. To know her is to love her.

Love Power People.

May everyday forward be as sweet as this. xo
