It was a crisp and gentle, unseasonably warm day for October 25th, and a perfect climate for a wedding, in my opinion. We started in Francesca’s family home, with the make-up mirror placed between a wedding photograph of her parents and a portrait of her First Communion. The wedding dress hung up between the living room drapes. Her mother and father unable to contain their happiness and anticipation. Francesca gets ready, pins boutonierres on her father and ring boy—perhaps the cutest one to ever take the job. She takes a breath with her bridesmaids, shares a sweet moment with her flower girl, who may or may not make it to the ceremony, and the day begins. Meanwhile, my right hand human Dylin, has been snapping shots of Patrick and his brother, cool as cucumbers, getting styled up for the big moment. The ceremony is elegant and imbued with the surrounds of St Patrick’s Cathedral—no glitches, no blunders, everything unfolding like a silk ribbon. Afterward we slip away to U of T’s King’s College campus to capture the historic architecture of it’s spaces: the industrial-era Lassonde and Rosebrugh buildings, the grandiose columns of Convocation Hall and the decadent gothic arches inside the magical Knox College. Then, finally, stage three: a plush party up in the clouds at Canoe Restaurant, hosted by Oliver and Bonacini. Check the sunset, the cookies, the city lights…and especially that gorgeously well-stocked bar, what a backdrop.
Classy.
