Wow.

Dylin & I, being the lucky ones we are, were invited to Cairo to photograph this fantastic wedding day. Not your usual run of events: ceremony, cocktails, reception and so forth…no. The wedding begins after sun down, with Dima & her father meeting up, off site but in view of all the guests, joining up with her new man there to then be paraded into the venue by a 25 (or so)-piece Bedouin Band! The musicians, all clad in white, surround the bride & groom and play clamorously, frenetically, rising and crescendoing to a fever pitch while guests join in the dancing and welcome the married couple. It’s a fantastic spectacle, full of emotion and abandon-what an absolute joy to shoot! From that point on, the party just keeps on coming–more music, more dancing, small breaks for dinner and then more dancing, more music…and more dancing.

Feast your eyes on the lavish tables settings: silver, brass and burlap absolutely gushing with floral shades of purple. Complimentary pashminas, winding vines, adorably hand-tied offerings of coffee. The venue too is a sight to behold–a J W Marriott palace of modernity perched at the edge of the Egyptian desert.
