Oh super fine Steamwhistle–you are a sensational venue, perfectly suited to this room full of fabulous people. I love your dazzling strings of light, your plentiful taps, your glassy vantage points. Your staff are sweet peeps, your spaces inspire imagination–and most importantly, you make a really great party.
Steve and Ashley are not only a 2-person team of fantastic decision-making, but they’re also maybe the cutest two people to ever be put together on this earth.
They’re both calmly collected, open and comfortably unflappable individuals. It was a bit of a blustery, tempermental day, but they were game to go play on the trains, get silly in front of the Steamwhistle sign, take a hike to the base of the CN Tower and a brisk stroll along the Roger’s Centre suspension bridge–all in view of a hundred super-curious tourists. Ha! Sure, no big deal. We even acquired a small woman with a camera who glommed onto us for a good section of the shoot (no photos here of her, sorry)—all weathered in style. This bride and groom are all about it, I must say. They just look good everywhere.
She’s a make-up artist and he’s a DP (Director of Photography)—god help me! They met on location, so explained the hilarious man who married them (insert credit here)—and they fell in, by the looks of it, utterly and completely. These two just fit together.
Check the look on Steve’s face as he first lays eyes on his brided-up lady. Check their gorgeous bridal party full of jokers. I like the delicate and detailed table settings, with milk bottle vases, burlap and so much bokeh in the twinkly lights.
