A late November wedding. When all the leaves are already crispy. A snap in the air.
Melissa’s sisters snugged her petite self into a frothy gown by Inbal Dror, and gathered round to coach her on all things bridal. Accompanied by her puff ball toddler flower mates, bashful ring-boy and volumes of family, she is delivered by convoy to the St Francis of Assisi Parish.
Quite a place. Soaring and expansive, yet also warm and inviting. Anthony was there waiting with his entourage, looking at once delighted and daunted. Of course. What a process this is, the marriage ceremony. A gigantic moment in our meek lives.
Vows, rings, signatures, salutations. A raucous snapshot outside on the church steps. To Kleinburg for a brief moment, braving the near-winter chill for the sake of a few portraits. And then finally, the long awaited celebration.
What a room!
The Arlington Estate is run by consummate professionals who have their eyes on every detail. The sound, the light, the placement of each and every guest. The quality of espresso and grade of scotch behind the bar. The temperature of the oysters. The wick of every candle.
Extravagant and flawless, and friendly too.
I stand in wonder at everything Melissa & Anthony put on offer at this incredible party: An antipasto station replete with wheels of parm and legs of prosciutto, prepared before our eyes on a giant cherry-red meat slicer. Champagne cocktails and cosmos, and every blend of spirit one might dream up. Endless plates of wonderful food arriving and departing seamlessly. An 8-piece band with a serious horn section!! (www.symmetrystudios.com) Cabbageflower centrepieces (I LOVE the ever-charming cabbageflower!!) And finally, dare I forget to mention, vanilla oreo cookie/rice krispie square party favours with caramel popcorn and edible gold glitter!! Whaaaat!!?
Some more of my favourite things at this wedding:
Clear chandeliers and white roses, dangling like droplets.
The immaculate Elektra espresso machine.
The room full of drop dead beautiful women of all ages, and everyone dressed to the nines.
Sending joy, love and all life’s great gifts your way Melissa & Anthony. You two are a class act.
